Mercedes improvements “showing” in Sochi, says Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton is confident that the 1, 2 in qualifying is down to Mercedes’ “big improvements.”

Lewis Hamilton believes the Russian Grand Prix is showing the “big improvements” Mercedes has made to the way it prepares its car.

Mercedes locked out the Sochi front row on Saturday, finishing half-a-second clear of the nearest Ferrari. 

Hamilton says the result shows the changes to “how we use the tyres and how we set the car up.”

Team Principal Toto Wolff felt the result reflected the team’s “hard work” over the last few weeks.
