Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff believes his team had the quickest car at all three races during F1’s recent triple header, despite losing two races to Ferrari.

For the first time in Formula 1 history, three races – France, Austria, and Britain – were held consecutively over three weeks.

“We didn’t score as many points in the triple-header as we had hoped for,” Mercedes Team Principal Wolff said, putting it down to a string of bad luck.

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel scored back-to-back wins in Austria and Britain, which leaves him commanding the Drivers World Championship by 8 points ahead of this weekend’s German Grand Prix.
