Raikkonen not confident with strategy

Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen doesn’t sound overly confident ahead of the French Grand Prix.

Kimi Raikkonen doesn’t think an alternate strategy can help him in the French Grand Prix, saying that choosing different tyres just doesn’t change anything.

Raikkonen starts the upcoming race at Paul Ricard from P6, following a qualifying session where he couldn’t string together a decent lap in Q3.

“In other races we have seen people starting with different tires and it did not change things,” Raikkonen said.

His comment comes just days after Green Flag F1 published an article analysing Pirelli’s methods of choosing their three mandatory compounds.

Raikkonen said Sunday’s Grand Prix will be “challenging.”
